Vintage Noreen Check Silk

Stunning true vintage plaid/ check silk. Composition is light to mid weight with some structure, similar a Dupion taffeta, this could be a Thai or Indian silk, lovely quality. It’s ideal for dresses, light weight jackets, skirts etc. Colours include red, blue & ivory, however somehow when all put together it gives a hint of brown. The overall colouring is not bold but quite muted. Please note that this a natural fibre and there maybe some imperfections & slubs in the weave characteristic of this type of silk.
Approx measurements 50cm Long 110cm wide
PLEASE NOTE : Price is per half metre to order 0.5m order ‘1’ to order 1 metre order ‘2’. All additional metres will be cut in a continuous run.
Composition: 100% silk.
Main Colours: Shades of red, green, blue & ivory, together it has a muted palette and looks a bit chestnut brown.
Drape: Has structure, typical of this type of silk. 
Condition: Unused condition from the original bolt.
Missy Mop Says: This a really lovely silk, it’s quite understated for a silk, the colour palette together is quite muted. At first glance you might think it was a vintage cotton as early as the 30s 40s but the cloth itself being silk has a bit of structure. A cloth that could work across the decades and equally for day and evening wear.
