Vintage Green Mother of Pearl Buttons x1
Beautiful high quality vintage mother-of-pearl buttons from unused stock. These buttons are polished emerald green with a bit of shimmer—please refer to the photos for both front and back views. Note on some of the buttons you may see what looks like white marks or chips, these are not actually on the buttons but the reflection of the spot lights.
Each button measures approximately 23mm and features two holes. Please note that slight variations in size and shape may occur due to the nature of vintage production. Made from genuine mother-of-pearl, these roundish buttons have a unique, high-quality finish and timeless appeal. These are high quality buttons not thin & flimsy like modern mother of pearl buttons, these are made from a thicker shell, as you can see they are not reinforced with a plastic back plate to strengthen the buttons as is the case with some more modern mother of pearl buttons.
These buttons were made in Germany at a former factory specialising in high quality (& thicker shell) mother of pearl buttons. The majority of the buttons sourced from there were from the turn of the 20th century to circa 1960s. Due to the manufacturing processes at the time the buttons are less uniform and appear a little more rustic & are often thicker than contemporary buttons. In some of the photos it may look like the buttons have chips, these are not chips but have smooth edges and add to the character of the buttons.
Sold individually. Order 1 unit for 1 button.
